The British Psychoanalytic Society welcomes a new Chief Executive Officer

The British Psychoanalytic Society has appointed a new Chief Executive Officer to replace Caroline Langley, who has left to join the British Cardiovascular Society.

Following a very rigorous recruitment process, the BPaS is delighted to announce that it has appointed Jennifer Norton who is currently CEO of the British Acupuncture Council. Jennifer has over 16 years experience in the membership sector

Since 2019, she has provided leadership management in her role as CEO of the British Acupuncture Council (BAcC). Including the responsibility for the BAcC’s executive and financial management. She has worked closely with the Governing Board to implement the long-term strategy, budget and business plan. During her four years at the BAcC she has fostered change to make the organisation more open and accountable to the membership. Jennifer was a regular presenter on behalf of BAcC and advocated on behalf of members with governments and other stakeholders. 

Prior to that Jennifer began her career as publications officer at the Nutrition Society in 2006, following a BSc in Human Nutrition at the University of Westminster. As Director of Secretariat services at the Nutrition Society, she was responsible for charity administration and governance. Here she led the diversification of income streams through the establishment of the International Affairs department in addition to the establishment of national and international training.

Jennifer will be commencing her new role on the 15th April.

She said ‘I am delighted to be joining the BPAS at this time. I have been impressed by the quality and passion of staff and the members I have met thus far and I look forward to meeting more of you in the months to come. I believe we have an exciting future as we grow opportunities to support the practice of psychoanalysis in the U.K. and globally.’
