Liza Fior is one of the founding members of muf architecture/art, a London based internationally recognised practice whose work for the public realm , landscape open spaces and buildings is pragmatic yet ambitious. Projects range from strategic urban design and master planning to detailed buildings, landscapes, and streetscapes.

Their approach can be described as “Value what's there, nurture the possible and only then describe what's missing".

muf won the European Prize for Public Space for Barking Town Square and was recognised by the international Divia Awards 2023.

Liza is a Professor of Architecture and Spatial Practise at UAL, co-founder of We Are Here Venice and was previously a Mayor’s Design Advocate.

From Freud’s thinking on the sublimation of libido and his later theorisation of the Life and Death Drives, to Klein’s work on reparation and the recovery of the good object and Winnicott’s ideas of creative living, psychoanalysis has always been interested in creativity.

In the fourth Maudsley summer series on arts and psychoanalysis, we continue to explore this theme of creativity between internal and external worlds in dialogue with artists from a range of different perspectives: from the natural to the built world and ceramics to literature and theatre.
