 Group Discussion Leaders
Dr Jacqueline Bristow & Dr Rachel Sharp

We are inviting all professionals working in mental health settings, such as doctors, nurses and allied health professionals. This will be a chance to deepen the understanding by discussing in more depth cases from ordinary mental health settings, their presentation to the clinicians, and the difficulties in dealing with them and within the team.

The groups will be held online weekly for 5 weeks, with up to 12 members working in a mental health setting. We will offer up to 2 groups, each led by a psychoanalyst with significant experience in mental health, in working with multidisciplinary teams and with reflective practice groups.

Some of you will have the chance to present a case. All of you are encouraged to contribute to the joint discussion about the case.

Rachel Sharp is a Psychoanalyst in private practice and Member of the British Psychoanalytical Society. She trained in Medicine and then in Psychiatry, before specialising in Medical Psychotherapy.  She has worked therapeutically with individuals and groups, and facilitates reflective practice sessions for staff in the NHS and not-for-profit sectors.

Jacqueline Bristow is a Psychoanalyst, a member of the British Psychoanalytical Society, and Co-Head of the London Clinic of Psychoanalysis. Her background is as a Psychiatrist, and she has worked for many years in community and hospital NHS mental health settings. She has an interest in the use of psychoanalytic thinking in reflective practice, and Balint groups.
