Anna Freud dies on October 9th
Her work, particularly in child analysis, will continue to be highly influential in child psychology and psychotherapy. Her Hampstead Clinic is renamed the Anna Freud Centre. Just two weeks after Freud’s death, Paula Heimann dies. Her work had been influential in emphasizing the importance of countertransference in analytic treatment.
