Who we are
Founded in 1913, the Institute of Psychoanalysis also known as the British Psychoanalytical Society is a charity dedicated to enhancing lives through the intensive talking therapy that is psychoanalysis.
Our members represent a diverse range of countries and cultures and are able to provide psychoanalytic treatment in many different languages. Psychoanalysts trained in the British Society have the highest professional standards and qualifications and our training process is world renowned.
