A series of 5 seminars. Thursday evenings 28 April and 5, 12, 19, 26 May - 8.30-10pm.
A seminar series aimed at mental health professionals, led by Dr Giovanni Polizzi, who will be joined on 3 evenings by Professor Mary Target, Dr Kate Pugh and Dr Duncan McLean.
The series will explore the roots of the current descriptive psychiatric diagnoses of borderline personality in psychoanalytic conceptions and look at the evolution of the psychoanalytic conception of 'borderline' and psychoanalytic treatment, with a focus on a variety of contemporary psychoanalytic approaches. The ongoing relevance of psychoanalytic ideas for psychiatrists and psychologists will be highlighted throughout the series.
