“These speaking hands”
Dr Jeanne Magagna is a Tavistock-trained child, adult and family psychotherapist who has worked internationally for over four decades. She was Head of Psychotherapy Services at Great Ormond Street Hospital for Children for 24 years and has taught extensively, including as Coordinator of Training at Centro Studi Martha Harris in Florence and Venice. Author of The Silent Child: Communication without Words and Being Present for Your Nursery Age Child, and editor of several influential volumes on child and family psychotherapy, she has dedicated her career to helping parents and professionals observe and understand infants’ deeper emotional lives. In this lecture she will explore how music and images illuminate the meaning of adults’ and babies’ hand gestures, revealing a profound form of emotional communication from the body-self.
REFUND POLICY: Tickets are fully refundable until 14 days before the lecture, after this time no refunds will be issued. For full series bookings, tickets are fully refundable 14 days before the first lecture in the series.
