About this event
A Latin American Psychoanalytic Approach in Work with Babies
Join us for the screening of the documentary ‘Indicators of Intersubjectivity in the First Year of Life’, created by the renowned Uruguayan psychoanalyst Víctor Guerra (1958–2017). The film portrays the emergence of intersubjectivity during a baby’s first year, based on Guerra’s clinical and research work.
This event is part of the Child and Adolescent, Under 3s series, which explores psychoanalytic work with infants, toddlers, and their caregivers.
The screening will be followed by reflections from Victoria Nicolodi, who will present a case and discuss the clinical implications of Guerra’s theory, in dialogue with Kathryn Pugh, Fátima Martínez del Solar, and Macarena Hernández.
Victoria Nicolodi is a child and adolescent psychotherapist (IPCAPA/AFC-UCL), originally trained as a clinical psychologist in Brazil. She is the founder of the Latin American Psychoanalytic Hub and her clinical practice spans community work supporting adoptive parents and toddlers, as well as her current NHS role with care-experienced children and young people.
