CEO Annoucement
The British Psychoanalytic Society (incorporating the Institute of Psychoanalysis) is pleased to announce the appointment of Karina Zorlakkis as its new Chief Executive.
Karina brings extensive experience and her breadth of institutional knowledge to the role, having worked at the Society for the past six and a half years. Most recently, she served as Chief Operating Officer, where she played a pivotal role in the organisation’s strategic development and operational leadership.
Throughout her time at the Society, Karina has demonstrated a strong commitment to its mission and values, working closely with members, staff, and committees to strengthen the organisation and support its work. Her appointment reflects both her proven leadership and the continuity of vision she brings to the role.
Commenting on her appointment, Karina Zorlakkis said:
“I am delighted to take on the role of Chief Executive. It is a privilege to lead an organisation I know well, and to work with its members and staff, alongside the President and Board, in supporting psychoanalysis in the UK and internationally.”
Elizabeth Coates Thummel the Society’s President has added:
“ I am really pleased that Karina has been appointed as our new Chief Executive. She has been with the Institute for over six years as a member of the senior management team and brings a strong understanding of our work, values and priorities. Her attention to detail, calm and thoughtful approach and steady energy are just what we need during the challenging period ahead”
Karina will take up the role with immediate effect, leading the Society into its next chapter of development and engagement.
