Bubble and Speak: Clinical Insights from London’s Only Maison Verte

Bubble and Speak is a welcoming space inspired by Françoise Dolto’s “Maison Verte”, for children under four years of age and their parents or carers—the only one of its kind in London. The project is located in a working-class, gentrified context. Families often have to navigate the choice between in-home care and daycare settings; therefore, alongside parents and grandparents, many children come accompanied by childcare professionals. The “Nannies,” as parents and toddlers call them, tend to bring a particular complexity to the transference dynamic in the room, introducing their own relational styles, rules and desires. In this talk, our Welcomers will be presenting their clinical observations that are particular to the space.

The team of Welcomers who will be presenting the clinical cases are:

Kristina Valendinova is a psychoanalyst based in London, a member of CFAR in London and the Cercle Freudien in Paris. She is the co-founder of Bubble and Speak. 

Laura Scott Rosales is a psychoanalyst based in London and a member of The Site for Contemporary Psychoanalysis. She serves as welcomer and co-director of Bubble and Speak. 

Agnes Meadows is studying early child development at the Anna Freud Centre and is part of our Welcoming team at Bubble and Speak.
