We are pleased to announce that the Conference plenary on Sunday will be chaired by Rosine Perelberg, President of the BPaS, and we are honoured that Harriet Wolfe President of the IPA, Heribert Blass President of the EPF and David Simpson President of the BPA have accepted our society's invitation to contribute to the plenary discussion.

Inspired by the centenary of the publication of Freud’s “Beyond the Pleasure Principle” which introduced the idea of the “compulsion to repeat”, this conference (postponed from Autumn 2020 due to Covid-19) revisits ‘Action’ and its connection -or disconnection- to the Mind. The speakers will explore a variety of clinical experiences, where Action -and not exclusively acting out is paramount. Action and its relation to and the movement toward representation and thinking will be examined in psychoanalytic work with adults and children.

In each of three moderated panels, two speakers will present their clinical work and theoretical ideas followed by a dialogue with each other and with the audience. There will be an open final plenary exchange between the speakers and the audience.
