Who is this course for?
Both clinicians and students from a variety of disciplines such as philosophy, medicine, psychology, literature, wanting to expand their knowledge on Bion’s ideas and its applications. Particularly suited for overseas students. Also serves as a natural progression for those who completed our Introductory Lectures course.

This short course will give you an outline of Bion’s core ideas, their theoretical relevance and applications.
Recorded Lectures
Course Format
This course consists of recorded lectures, a transcript of the lectures, study questions, suggested reading and a glossary of terms. The study questions will help you to check your understanding and will not be assessed.
These features of the course allow students the freedom to follow the course at their own pace.
In the live online discussion groups you will be joined by up to seven other students and a senior analyst. There are 5 discussion groups as part of the course – one for each lecture. Please see below for the dates and times of these discussions.

Entry Requirements
The course is open to all including those completely new to the subject and no specific experience or qualifications are required.
You must have the technology necessary to enrol in our Moodle platform, which requires a strong broadband connection (around 400kbps - 2Mbps download speed, 400kbps+ upload speed).
To take part in discussion groups you need a computer, laptop, tablet or phone as well as a microphone (this is built in for many devices.) A webcam is also recommended. You will need to have Skype installed on your chosen device. Please make sure you have the most up to date version installed.
For discussion groups, it is essential that you have a good degree of understanding of English language unless stated otherwise.
Certificate
If you complete the course and attend at least 80% of the online discussion groups, you will receive a digital certificate of attendance. If you opt out of the discussion groups, you will not receive a certificate but you will have an email confirming that you registered for the course.
