If you are interested in finding out about psychoanalytical ways of thinking about the mind, human behaviour, relationships and the world this series of Lectures and Seminars will be of interest to you. Each lecture is followed by small group discussion and the series provides an overall view of the core concepts in psychoanalysis and their main applications. The programme is run in London, Leeds, Belfast and Penrith, but this is the first time it has been put on in Newcastle.
Although the lectures are introductory in the sense of not requiring prior academic or clinical experience of psychoanalysis or psychotherapy, both those with little prior knowledge and more experienced professionals from a variety of work settings have found them valuable and stimulating.
Anyone who is interested is invited to apply.
The facilitators of the discussion seminars will be Mrs. Merja Makinen-Martindale, Dr Brian Martindale and Professor Ken Robinson who are psychoanalysts living in and close to Newcastle. They and the colleagues giving the lectures are experienced clinicians and teachers and members of the British Psychoanalytical Society or NEAPP. Half of the lectures will be live, and the rest will be on DVD from the London based series.
The lectures and seminars will take place in Gosforth on Thursday evenings from 6.30-8.30pm in the Autumn 2017 and Spring 2018 terms, beginning 21 September 2017. There will be an upper limit of 20 places.
