Registration is closed for this event

From the Perinatal Clinic

10 October 2022
Dialogue between Dr Anne Ward and Dr Livia Martucci
6:30pm - 8:00pm

Hybrid Event
Online via Zoom and In Person at 10 Windsor Walk SE5 8BB

The discussion will illuminate what is particular to working in this speciality, and the particular staff dynamics involved. Dr Martucci will share some of her personal reflections on the path to becoming Community Clinical Lead for Perinatal in SLAM. A composite case will be presented illustrating some of the salient dynamics, and these will be discussed using Winnicott’s ideas as relevant to this NHS service. It would be helpful for attendees to read 'Ghosts in the Nursery' in advance if they are not already familiar with the paper. There will be ample time for attendee questions and contributions.

Chaired by Simon Harrison and Emma Hotopf

Dr Livia Martucci is a consultant in perinatal psychiatry at St Thomas’s Hospital in London, and the clinical lead for South London & Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust’s perinatal mental health services. She is a member of the perinatal faculty at the RCPsych, and she has a special interest in capacity, best interest, advanced care planning and law.

Dr Anne Ward is a Psychoanalyst and Consultant Psychiatrist in Psychotherapy at the South London & Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust.  She is Clinical Lead for Parent-Infant Therapy in adult services at SLAM, Chair of the UK TFP Steering Group, and supervises and trains junior doctors in psychotherapy.
