He is a Professor Emeritus of at the University of Nottingham having retired in 2008. He is also Honorary Professor of Epidemio logy and Public Health at UCH and Visiting Profess or at University of York In 2009\, Richard co-foun ded The Equality Trust and was awarded a 2013 Silv er Rose Award from Solidar for championing equalit y and the 2014 Charles Cully Memorial Medal by the Irish Cancer Society.\n \n Prof Bob Hinshelwood i s a Fellow of the British Psychoanalytical Society \, and a Fellow of the Royal \;College of Psyc hiatrists. He has been interested all his career i n the application of psychoanalysis \;to socia l and organisational dynamics and was strongly&nbs p\;influenced by the anti-psychiatry movement of t he 1960s and Therapeutic Communities. In September \, Karnac \;will publish his new book \;Un conscious Politics.\n \n He has written extensivel y on Kleinian psychoanalysis as well as two books of dialogues trying to establish bridges between d ifferent schools of psychoanalytic thought.
