She is a gr oup analyst\, specialist in conflict resolution an d an accredited mediator. Gabrielle combines in-de pth political and psychological expertise with man y years&rsquo\; experiences in promoting serious a nalysis and dialogue. Her focus of work over the p ast two decades has been the Iran nuclear issue\, the proxy wars in Syria and the Palestine-Israel c onflict. More recently she has been working on the Ukraine/ Russia conflict on keeping lines of comm unication open between the warring parties. Believ ing passionately in preventive diplomacy ( as once people go to war it is difficult to resolve confl ict) she has initiated a new project on how to pre vent war in Taiwan. \;\n \n She is an author a nd frequent contributor to the media\, with over 5 0 publications nearly always from a conflict resol ution perspective. \; She has written for vari ous newspapers\, online publications and academic journals\, including\; The Guardian\, The Times\, Prospect\, The Independent\, Open Democracy and th e New England Journal of Public Policy and is the co-author  \;with Gianni Picco of  \;Fog o f Peace: how to prevent war. Bloomsbury 2016.  \;\n \n Dr David Bell retired from his consultant& nbsp\;post at the Tavistock in 2021. At the Tavist ock\, he developed and led the Fitzjohns Unit a sp ecialist service for the most complex and severe a dult cases referred to the Tavistock. He is a past President of the British Psychoanalytical Society . He lectures and publishes on a wide range of sub jects including the work of Freud\, Klein and  \;Bion\, the understanding of severe psychological disorder. For his entire professional career he h as deeply involved himself in interdisciplinary st udies &ndash\; the relation between psychoanalysis and literature\, philosophy and socio-political t heory and has lectured and written extensively in those areas. He set up and chaired (for about 15 y ears) a Philosophy and Psychoanalysis Study Group. He served two terms as Clinical and Academic Staf f Representative on the Tavistock Council of Gover nors. Books include Reason and Passion\, Psychoana lysis and Culture: a Kleinian Perspective\, Living on the Border\, Turning the Tide (on the work of the Fitzjohns Unit) and one small book\, Paranoia. During his Professorial Fellowship at Birkbeck Co llege (2012&ndash\;13) he focused on different for ms of degradation of knowledge and thinking. He is a leading psychiatric expert in immigration/asylu m/human rights \;\n \n Over the last 4 years h e has been deeply involved in thinking about the c urrent debate over gender dysphoria in children an d adolescents\, trying to maintain thoughtful and psychoanalytic perspective in a highly toxic and p oliticised climate.
