Helga Skogstad: International Activity

Fellow of the British Psychoanalytic Society and Psychoanalyst in Private Practice.

Until 2015 she was Lead Adult Psychotherapist at the Cassel Hospital, Richmond, a psychoanalytic hospital for intensive inpatient and outpatient treatment of patients with severe personality disorder.

From 2005 – 2009,  she was a member of the Advisory Board of  ‘Internationale Psychoanalyse’, the German psychoanalytic annual publishing selected papers from the International Journal of Psychoanalysis, translated into German and she was involved in translating the contributions for the annual.

She gave a series of lectures, jointly with Wilhelm Skogstad, on Kleinian concepts in the treatment of severely disturbed patients in Timmendorf (2003) and at two conferences in Stuttgart (2006, 2008).  She has held theoretical seminars for psychoanalysts in Munich (2005). She gave papers on psychoanalytic theory and technique from a Kleinian perspective at the German Psychoanalytic Society in Berlin (2010, 2012 and 2014).

Since 2008,  she has regularly led clinical seminars, together with Wilhelm Skogstad,  for psychoanalysts in Würzburg, Berlin and Munich. She also offers regular telephone supervision for psychoanalysts and psychotherapists from Germany and Ireland.
